Gel Overlay Manicure: A Step-by-Step Guide

What You’ll Need:

  • Mong Up Nails U-Gel (built-in base)
  • U-Shine Gel Top Coat (non-wipe formula)
  • Gel color of your choice (optional)
  • Primer
  • LED UV lamp
  • Nail file and buffer
  • Cuticle pusher
  • Nail cleanser or alcohol wipes

Step 1: Nail Preparation

Start by pushing back your cuticles and shaping your nails with a file. Gently buff the surface of each nail to ensure the gel adheres properly.

Step 2: Applying the Primer

Apply a thin layer of primer to each nail and allow it to air dry. This helps the U-Gel bond better to the nail surface.

Step 3: Applying U-Gel

Apply a base layer of U-Gel to your nails, covering the entire nail evenly (avoid touching the cuticle), and capping the edges. Cure under the LED UV lamp for 60 seconds.

Step 4: Building the Gel Overlay

For added strength, apply additional layer of U-Gel on the entire nail, cure under the LED UV lamp for 60 seconds. This builds up the thickness and durability of the overlay.

Step 5: Gel Color (optional)

Apply gel color as desired. For each coat of gel color, cure under the LED UV lamp for 60 seconds.

Step 6: Applying U-Shine Gel Top Coat

Once you’ve achieved the desired thickness, apply a thin layer of U-Shine Gel Top Coat and cure under the LED UV lamp for 60 seconds. This will add a beautiful shine and help protect your manicure.

U-Gel is formulated for easy application and superior durability, ensuring a professional finish every time. It’s perfect for overlays, extensions, and repairs.
