A gel overlay manicure is a durable and long-lasting nail treatment that involves applying a layer of gel product over your natural nails. This helps to strengthen and protect your nails while providing a polished, glossy finish. Here are the steps to achieve a gel overlay manicure:

**Materials and Tools You’ll Need:**

1. U-Gel as base coat
2. Gel nail polish (color of your choice)
3. U-Shine as Gel top coat
4. LED UV nail lamp
5. Nail file and buffer
6. Nail cleanser or rubbing alcohol
7. Nail brush
8. Nail cuticle pusher and nippers
9. Lint-free wipes
10. Nail polish remover (if needed)

**Step 1: Prep Your Nails**

1. Remove any existing nail polish using nail polish remover or e-file.
2. Shape your nails using a nail file to achieve the desired length and shape.
3. Gently buff the surface of your natural nails to remove any shine and create a slightly rough texture. This helps the gel adhere better.
4. Push back your cuticles using a cuticle pusher. Trim any excess cuticle using nippers.

**Step 2: Apply U-Gel as Base Coat**

1. Apply a thin layer of the U-Gel base coat to your nails, making sure to cap the free edge (the tip of the nail).
2. Avoid getting the U-Gel on your skin. If you do, use a nail brush dipped in alcohol to clean it up.
3. Cure the U-Gel under UV LED nail lamp for 60 seconds.

**Step 3: Apply Gel Color**

1. Apply a thin layer of gel nail polish in your chosen color. Be careful not to touch your cuticles or skin.
2. Cure the color coat under the LED nail lamp for 60 seconds. You may need to apply 2 coats, curing each layer separately, to achieve the desired opacity.
3. If you make any mistakes or get polish on your skin, make sure to clean it with a nail brush dipped in alcohol before curing.

**Step 4: Apply U-Shine Gel Top Coat**

1. Apply a layer of the U-Shine non-wipe gel top coat to seal and protect the color. Make sure to cap the free edge.
2. Cure the U-Shine non-wipe gel top under the LED nail lamp for 60-90 seconds.

**Step 5: Final Touches**

1. Apply a cuticle oil or moisturizer to hydrate your cuticles and the skin around your nails.
2. If you have any uneven edges or rough spots, you can gently buff them with a nail buffer to smooth the surface.

Your gel overlay manicure is now complete. It should be shiny, long-lasting, and durable. Remember to avoid excessive exposure to harsh chemicals to prolong the life of your gel nails. If you ever want to remove the gel overlay, it’s best to have it done by a professional or follow proper gel nail removal procedures to avoid damaging your natural nails.
