How it works (and why it’s important):

After proper nail preparation (shaping, buffing, cuticle work, and cleansing), the Móng Úp U-Bond Primer is applied. It works by:

1. Removing Oils and Impurities: It helps to dehydrate the nail plate and remove any lingering natural oils or impurities. This is crucial because oils can create a barrier that prevents nail products from adhering properly, leading to lifting.
2. Creating a “Sticky” Surface: While non-acidic, it creates a slightly tacky or “sticky” surface on the natural nail. This microscopically rough texture provides something for the subsequent gel or acrylic product to “grip” onto, forming a strong mechanical bond.
3. Enhancing Adhesion: By preparing the nail in this manner, the primer significantly enhances the adhesion of the nail enhancement product, leading to a more durable and longer-lasting manicure or extension.

Typical Use in the Móng Úp System:

The Móng Úp Ultra-Bond Primer is typically applied as the first step after nail preparation, before applying:

• U-Gel: This is Móng Úp’s builder/extend gel, used for gel extensions (especially with our pre-roughened soft gel tips), rebalancing, and strengthening natural nails.
• Gel Polish: If applying U-Gel directly to the natural nail, the primer would be applied first.
• Acrylic: For acrylic applications, it also serves as the bonding base.
